SUMMARY:CERT Basic
DESCRIPTION:The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates v
 olunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact thei
 r area and trains them in basic disaster response skills\, such as fire sa
 fety\, light search and rescue\, team organization\, and disaster medical 
 operations. CERT offers a consistent\, nationwide approach to volunteer tr
 aining and organization that professional responders can rely on during di
 saster situations\, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Thro
 ugh CERT\, the capabilities to prepare for\, respond to and recover from d
 isasters is built and enhanced.\n\nThe course is being held on consecutive
  Tuesdays and Thursdays through January\, from 6 to 9 PM with the exceptio
 n of January 9th.  It begins January 2nd and runs through January 30th. 
  Registration for all eight modules is $35.00 and includes a backpack with
  personal protective equipment and a manual.
